CUPE Local 1606 is proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a Buffalo Trail Public Schools student who has achieved a minimum average of 70% at the time of application.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- provide a letter of acceptance to a one-or two‑year certificate or diploma program at a recognized post‑secondary institution
- submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words on the “Purpose of a Union”
- The name of the eligible member, must be submitted through the local union
Applications must be submitted to the CUPE Local 1606 “CUPE in the Community” by September 1st of each year.
Any individual who has previously received this scholarship from CUPE Local 1606 is not eligible.
